FAQ's

We understand that you may have a question or two. Please read below as it may have already been answered.

How old do I need to be to enter into a building contract?

Typically, you will need to be at least 18 years of age to enter into a contract.

Okay, so I’m interested. How should I best prepare/maintain my property?

We need a blank canvass to work off. So, for that purpose, we need you to clear any rubbish and/or vegetation off the land. Better yet, whist not necessarily compulsory, it is always a good idea to arrange for temporary fencing so as to avoid others dumping rubbish/industrial waste on your land. If you need help with this, we can put you in touch with a reliable temporary fencing team. Keep in mind though that when clearing the land or arranging fencing, not to remove the title pegs on the property that identify boundaries.

Why is maintaining my block of land important?

The simple answer is that it allows us to get straight to work and saves us time in not having to do what you could otherwise arrange without us. By maintaining the block before we start, you save weeks/months in the total timeframe.

So, we’ve signed the building agreement, how long before construction can start on my block?

It is always our aim to have your home constructed and ready for occupation as soon as possible. Whilst we wish for a quick turnaround, unfortunately we are sometimes held subject to third-party factors outside of our control, including council regulations and your own finances. However, once all is ready to go, we are happy to get things moving right away.

Can you demolish my old home if I would like you to?

Yes, we can arrange for demolition.

What types of dual occupancy / multi-unit developments can you build?

We are a specialist multi-dwelling developer. This means that we specialise in developing townhouses and/or duplex sites.

Am I permitted to go onsite and see how things are progressing during the build stage?

Of course you are, in fact, we welcome you to at any time. However, before doing so you will need to provide us with sufficient notice so that we can ensure that a safety supervisor is onsite with you to protect you from any dangers.

Do you build ‘smart’ homes?

We believe in a ‘smart’ and connected future home. For that reason, we are happy and able to offer upgrades to any of our developments that will increase the energy efficiency of the homes and the comfort of the users. This can include upgrading the CBUS systems or to have pre-wiring installed for future home theatre systems.

What’s the story with roof tiles? Any benefit in using them?

Design is critical to any building project – something that Unify understands well. It is often the case that Unify will create completely fresh and one-of-a-kind designs and deliveries for its clients. This not only meets clients’ needs, but also creates a signature outcome that stands apart from the otherwise crowded building crowd.
